The Black Forest Sparkler is inspired by the classic flavors of Black Forest cake: dark cherry and chocolate. A splash of lemon brightens the drink, while brut sparkling wine lifts everything with crisp effervescence. The result is a winter cocktail that feels elegant rather than heavy.
Ingredients
1 oz cherry liqueur (such as Luxardo Maraschino or a dark cherry liqueur like Heering Cherry Heering)
½ oz crème de cacao (preferably dark)
½ oz fresh lemon juice
3–4 oz brut sparkling wine (Champagne, Cava, or dry Prosecco)
Amarena Cherries in Syrup for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Add the cherry liqueur, crème de cacao, and lemon juice to a shaker with ice.
Shake briefly (8–10 seconds) to chill and dilute.
Strain into a chilled flute or coupe.
Slowly top with sparkling wine.
Stir once gently to integrate.
