The Black Forest Sparkler is inspired by the classic flavors of Black Forest cake: dark cherry and chocolate. A splash of lemon brightens the drink, while brut sparkling wine lifts everything with crisp effervescence. The result is a winter cocktail that feels elegant rather than heavy.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz cherry liqueur (such as Luxardo Maraschino or a dark cherry liqueur like Heering Cherry Heering)

  • ½ oz crème de cacao (preferably dark)

  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice

  • 3–4 oz brut sparkling wine (Champagne, Cava, or dry Prosecco)

  • Amarena Cherries in Syrup for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the cherry liqueur, crème de cacao, and lemon juice to a shaker with ice.

  2. Shake briefly (8–10 seconds) to chill and dilute.

  3. Strain into a chilled flute or coupe.

  4. Slowly top with sparkling wine.

  5. Stir once gently to integrate.
